The Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority (FBCTRA) was the first toll agency in the United States to eliminate cash from all lanes and move to all electronic toll collection. FBCTRA is a member of the Central United States Interoperability (CUSIOP) HUB which allows users with electronic toll tags issued by any member to operate on any toll road in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. To use any of the toll roads in Fort Bend County a vehicle must have a valid electronic toll tag issued by any one of the CUSIOP toll agencies.
Currently there are four agencies issuing tags that are recognized and accepted by FBCTRA:
- EZ-Tag issued by the Harris County Toll Road Authority
- TollTag issued by the North Texas Tollway Authority
- KTag issued by Kansas Turnpike Authority
- PikePass issued by Oklahoma Turnpike Authority
Operating a vehicle on any toll road operated by the Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority without a valid electronic toll tag is a violation and can result in a citation, toll violation notice, and additional fines and fees.
The Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority does not offer “Pay-By-Mail” or “Video Tolling” as an option. Your vehicle must have an electronic toll tag issued by a member of the statewide interoperability program.
If you previously had a TxTag issued by TxDot and your account was successfully transitioned over to Harris County Ez-Tag you are not required to get a new tag at this time. Should you start receiving unexpected notices from other agencies please contact Harris County EZ-Tag directly to see if there are issues with your account. If no issues are identified, you may submit a dispute directly with Harris County Ez-Tag and they will contact the agencies on your behalf to try and resolve.
